The goals we have conceded so far this season......

schoolboy stuff which really concerns me for the rest of the season. we ended last season letting too many in and the pattern hasnt changed.

antonio v chelsea - stupid decision making & foul
collins v chelsea - stood off costa
collins v astra - let the fella turn in the box
combination of errors last night - bryam giving it away, reid getting pulled out of position, nordveit not filling in for byram.

all massively avoidable.

We conceded plenty of awful schoolboy goals last season too. It's just that we usually had enough about ourselves going forward to dig ourselves out of any holes. We do not have that this season.

That for me is the bigger difference.

Their second goal last night was a disgrace from both Ogbonna and Payet.

Thread on here recently about the need to defend (row Z) instead of trying to be clever and play it out in certain situations.

Both tried to be clever and then Payet's reaction of just standing there staring after fucking up was cunty.

Bumping this thread, not because I started it but because of the relevance of it.
3 months? down the line and we are still conceding awful goals.

I'm a big fan of Bilic but this is beyond a joke now.

Lasts night goal was down to the fact Tore made zero effort to track the runner who eventually scored. The scorer started off standing almost next to Tore and when he put the ball in the net with Byram trying to get back Tore was in the exact same position he started. Maybe it's down to a lack to understanding but if a full back pushes on then the winger has to cover. Tore switched off and they scored!

he didnt have to Baggins, if you watch it back you will see Reid & Oggy shift left but no-one fills in alongside them.

as a DM he should sniff out danger like that. not just Norddy, same goes for Obiang as well.

either keeper its the same story- they can make blinding stops but there's always a goal or two conceded in them,...

What is most worrying is that we have competitive football under our belts and our players are at a better stage of fitness than Chelsea or B'mouth were.

Goose - BOTH full backs were completely out of position when the guy on their right wing got the ball. He can't cover them all.

My CB pairing if all are fit are Reid and Ogbonna, Collins in next, then Oxford, then Kouyate

To be fair, last nights was a bit unlucky. As soon as that slide tackle on Burke went down the line, we were in trouble.

I would like to think that Tore would have immediately recognised danger and tracked his runner but then he is a winger and they sometimes don't have the brightest football brains, to put it mildly.
